Waiting for the Day

“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God” Romans 8:19

Lord, I’m waiting for the day. Waiting for the day when praise is continually in my mouth. I am waiting for the day that love flows effortlessly from my heart to those around me, friend or foe. Lord, I’m waiting for the day that I freely show compassion toward my brothers and sisters less fortunate and more fortunate than I. Lord, I am waiting for the day when my feelings are not so easily hurt and my ego ceases to desperately seek to be stroked. Lord, I am waiting for the day when I no longer think that I know what you want in other people’s lives and I let You be You and I am content being me. Lord, I am waiting for the day when hatred, strife, and malice cease — for that day when there is a new heaven and a new earth. And when everything is made new! I am waiting for the day when I no longer thirst. Lord, I am waiting for the day when my soul is free and uninhibited to dance like David on those streets paved with gold, in Your Presence. Lord, I am waiting for the day when the waiting is over.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
